2. Where do I find information about Fiedler Library Wireless LAN?

The information about Fiedler Library wireless LAN is given at this webpage:

3. If this is a library, where are the books?

Fiedler Library is designed primarily as an electronic library. Selected current engineering journals and non-circulating engineering reference material such as handbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries, and standards are housed in Fiedler Library. Please note: current engineering journals that are accessible only in paper format have been moved to Fiedler Library. If an engineering journal is available electronically full-text via our K-State Libraries subscriptions, the paper counterpart remains in Hale Library.

If you would like to check if a journal title is accessible electronically, do a "Journal Title" search in the K-State Libraries Catalog or look up the journal via the E-Journals listing.

4. Where should I start if I am short on time and only need two or three articles for a paper or speech?

The best place to start would be:
Applied Science & Technology

K-State Libraries provide access to the majority of the journal titles listed in this index. Articles that are needed can generally be found on short notice, without resorting to requests via Interlibrary Services, (which takes time).

Expanded Academic ASAP

This database cover all subject areas, (i.e. science and non-science), and include some full-text journal articles.

5. Where do I start if I want to find Architectural Engineering and Construction Science Management information?

The best places to start when looking for citations to journal articles or proceedings are:

Compendex (Engineering Index)

Compendex provides international coverage of all aspects of engineering. Approximately 4,500 journals and 2,000 conference proceedings are indexed and abstracted per year, as well as some technical reports and books. Coverage is 1970 to the present.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals

The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals indexes more than 1,000 periodicals published worldwide on architecture, archeology, city planning, interior design, and historic preservation. Coverage is from the 1930s (with selective coverage dating back to the 1860s) to the present.
