Kansas Treasures from the KC Star
Scholarly Stitchers Quilt Group, Fall 2007
This is the third quilt made by the Scholarly Stitchers, who donated time and talent as a fundraiser for K-State Libraries.
The blocks selected for this quilt represent classic quilt blocks published in the 1930s and 1940s in the Kansas City Star. In this quilt is a bit of all of our lives and hearts. It was created in the hope that it will warm the minds and spirits of readers who benefit from the funds raised, as well as the bodies of those who lie under it or gaze upon it.
